Thanks, hombre
All mouse?? Nice job
thx, and I did make it all in mouse. I don't have a real drawing tablet. I tried this random pen on my laptop's touchpad, but I couldn't draw with it and I don't even have it anymore. Thank you for reviewing and giving it a score :D
Alex Zima? Wow, I haven't seen that name since maybe 2005.. I didn't know you were still active on NG, but I'm glad you are. I remember your other animations from back in those days and they really had a certain atmosphere to them that you didn't find in most stick animation. Do you plan on regularly animating again? I certainly hope so, thanks for sharing this lost piece of yours!
I just installed Flash 5 <don't like the newer versions, mostly cuz I haven't used them> and I have some stuff planned. Not sure for when, and definately not stick style anymore, but there is some dark stupid stuff coming for sure.
A bit overdone on the effects at times, and for me personally the change of sprites for Gouki from SFIII to CvS was a bit of a downer. Using the "Oni" form is mixed for me as well, as "Shin" Gouki is basically Gouki without reserving any fighting capability.. the "Oni" form even in the games always seemed overdone and poorly thought-out. I'm not a fan of the voices, a more appropriate course would to take clips from maybe the Street Fighter Zero ova or the SF2 film, non-dubbed of course. I'm just a stickler for character voices, the Japanese cast fit better in almost any case.
Despite a few points, the animation was well done and you can tell of all the hard work you must have put into this, so very much obliged to see this/this series!
Thanks for the comment. It's funny that you say the effects are over done. Some been telling me there aren't enough. Far as Oni! You have no idea how hard it was to find him. I like this version of him more than the original, it shows more of an early stage of Oni.
Sprite animation for me is like my relationship with Dragon Ball. I adore the original Dragon Ball for the very straightforward martial arts display and struggle without much flare or uneccessary excess to the process.
Although still a fan of Dragon Ball Z, I found that the overuse of repetitive flare and excess to be a bad turning point for me. The point of the analogy is this, modern day sprite animation either focuses on the fundamentals of animation or simply flare and repetition. What I enjoyed about this animation in particular is a subtle blend of great, basic animation and a few "modern" elements and effects.
More bluntly put, I find myself enjoying this animation much more than work by say.. Proxide or some of the other bigger names in sprite animation. You've done a great job taking two sometimes counter-acting elements of the genre and formed an accurate and balanced presentation of them together! I really do look forward to seeing more work like this, and I'll be keeping an eye on you in my favourites.
((P.S: Story wise, I think there could have been a more elaborate background on why Karin was using the Satsu no Hadou plus Sakura's minor use of it as well (Air hadouken, Gou hadouken, etc) but it didn't effect the enjoyment at all, this is just coming from a long-time Capcom fan, heh.))
I'm glad you noticed what I was trying to achieve! Basic Animation and a few modern elements and effects. lol Well said :) Thanks alot, this will help me in the long run!

P.S. Reply(lol): Everything WAS explained when it was a series, a week ago... I just simply smashed it down to a vs flash, but I couldn't take out the story elements between or it would look really stupid, trust me I tried :P
Nice point..
I have to admit, the animation for the walking SWF was actually pretty smooth and fluent. The word it's trying to point out is easily understood. Good overall submission.
Thanks, it's kind of a combination of several image manipulating techniques I have been sorting out so I can do more toon style animation. This is really my practice run.
More Amazing Material
From you, Alex Early. I enjoyed every Short.. with The Exception of Teh War by Billy. Hahahah, Ahem, if I May Ask some Simple Questions.
You use A Tablet for Your Brush Like Shorts and Work, Correct? and, Will you be showing Separate Short Completions like with 16 - 20?
Keep up Teh Good Work, Early.
Yes, I do use a tablet. (Else I wouldnt have made any of the brush shorts.) And I proably will not release shorts 21-25 seperatly.
